Public Procurement

Public procurement constitutes roughly one-third of government spending, presenting a significant revenue opportunity for companies. However, construction SMEs face barriers in accessing public procurement, including limited information, high qualification requirements, short deadlines, and excessive administrative burdens.

EBC advocates for equal opportunities in public tenders, fairer procurement processes, working closely with national and regional bodies to ensure that European public procurement legislation is applied in ways that grant direct access for SMEs and eliminate criteria that disadvantage smaller firms.
