Eco-design & Energy labelling

The EU legislation on Ecodesign creates a framework for the setting of mandatory ecological requirements for all energy-using and energy-related products, with the aim of ensuring the free movement of such products within the internal market. Energy-using products (EUPs) herein refers to products using, generating, transferring or measuring energy, such as boilers, computers, transformers, industrial fans etc., whereas energy related products (ERPs) refers to products which have an impact on energy and can therefore contribute to saving energy, such as windows, insulation material, taps etc. EBC follows this legislation to ensure that burdensome and costly measures are avoided for individually produced products such as specifically adjusted windows and doors.

In addition, EBC follows the EU legislation on energy labelling and related European standards providing manufacturers with guidance on how to classify their products in various energy efficiency classes, developed by the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC), in order to avoid unnecessary burdens.
