Labour market

A well-functioning labour market is crucial to ensure workers’ rights and a level playing field amongst companies. However, undeclared work, social dumping and bogus self-employment damage those enterprises that work in compliance with the rules and respect the social rights of their workers. These phenomena create unfair competition against construction SMEs and unfair treatment of workers that are deprived of the effective exercise of their social and labour rights. Therefore, EBC is continuously working on a better EU enforcement system that aims at improving the current functioning of the labour market.
