On 6 and 7 May, the Beeyonders consortium gathered in Zaragoza, Spain, for a two-day General Assembly aimed at reviewing the project’s progress and preparing for the final months ahead.
Hosted by the Instituto Tecnologico De Aragon ITAINNOVA, the meeting brought together 21 project partners from across Europe to share technical insights and strengthen their collaborative efforts towards human-centred, smart and sustainable technologies for the construction sector.
The consortium focused on technical developments across several areas, including robotic automation, digital construction methods, environmental integration, and worker safety. Special attention was given to the field-based case studies currently being rolled out across Europe: a building construction case in Finland; maritime construction cases in Spain and the Netherlands; a road construction and maintenance cases in Italy; and a tunnel construction case in Spain. These are testing tools and solutions developed by BEEYONDERS in real construction environments to gather practical insights and strengthen the project’s final impact.
Partners showcased significant progress in autonomous machinery and robotic systems for construction sites, including mobile platforms and collaborative robots designed to support workers in tasks such as lifting, transporting, and assembling materials. Another major area of focus was the continuous use of digital twin systems, which enable real-time monitoring and simulation of construction processes.
EBC’s role leading the liaison activities has led to establish and maintain connections with related national and international projects, with the ultimate goal to foster critical collaborations for this Horizon Europe project’s exploitation strategy. In the next months, EBC will also lead the development of the training activities related to the Beeyonders technologies for end-users and stakeholders. More info soon on these training sessions!
As Beeyonders moves into its final stages, the project remains focused on delivering practical solutions that support a more digital, sustainable, and worker-oriented construction sector in Europe.
