Energy efficiency: CondoReno partners convene in Paris to advance one-stop-shop shops for condominiums renovation

April 11, 2025

On 9 and 10 April 2025, partners of the CondoReno project, an EU-funded initiative under the LIFE programme, gathered in Paris for two key events discussing and advancing the integrated home renovation services (IHRS) model across Europe.

A brief state of play: steering committee meeting

Held at the Académie du Climat, the Steering Committee reviewed the project’s progress in supporting energy-efficient condominium renovations through replicable one-stop-shop models. Led by Delft University of Technology, partners explored stakeholder collaboration, financial viability, digital tools, and training initiatives. A visit to a local renovation project offered practical insights into implementation within an urban context.

Paris workshop: adapting one-stop-shop models locally

The following day, EBC together with the International Union of Property Owners (UIPI), and the Paris Climate Agency (APC) co-hosted a CondoReno workshop as part of the Forum Habiter Durable held in the City council of Paris. The session focused on the use of integrated home renovation services for multi-shared property in both the French and Parisian settings. Central to the discussions was CoachCopro, APC’s established one-stop-shop platform, which supports co-ownerships with tailored advice, coordination, and follow-up services and inspired the CondoReno project.

The workshop featured input from key stakeholders including Emmanuelle Causse (UIPI), Fernando Sigchos Jimenez (EBC), and Thomas Renaudin (APC), who stressed the importance of local adaptation, co-creation with stakeholders, and integration of support services ranging from technical assistance to financial guidance.

A panel discussion including Florence Cannesson (Confédération de l’Artisanat et des Petites Entreprises du Bâtiment CAPEB), Sylvain Grataloup (Union Nationale de la Propriété Immobilière UNPI), Karine Bidard (APC), Pierre Hautus (Association des grandes entreprises de la gestion et de la transaction immobilière PLURIENCE), and Jacques Baudrier, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of housing and the ecological transition of buildings, highlighted the practical challenges and opportunities in convincing more citizens, owners and condominium associations in investing in energy-efficient renovation works and accompanying them through one-stop-shops. A more stable regulatory framework, simplified procedures, easier access to financing and guarantees and targeted communication were identified as recurring needs across regions.

Next steps

Looking ahead, as part of its replication strategy under CondoReno, EBC is continuing this replication approach with upcoming workshops scheduled in Croatia on 27 May, Romania on 3 July 2025 and Spain later this year. A further session covering Slovakia is also planned for 2026. These efforts aim to further explore how to support condominium associations and property owners in their renovation journey, while sharing the Condoreno findings and tools on integrated home renovation services for condominiums.
