We are pleased to announce the updated agenda for the EBC 35th Anniversary Conference, taking place on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels, from 10:00 to 13:00 CET.
The conference will unveil the study “EU micro companies in the construction sector: rising to the 2040 climate challenge”, developed with Climact, which explores how Europe’s micro construction companies are adapting to the green transition and the changes in skills, jobs, and business models that will shape the sector in the coming decades.
Under the theme “Small Construction Companies, Big Local Impact: a 2040 Vision for Construction SMEs and Crafts”, the event will bring together policymakers, SME representatives, and industry stakeholders to discuss the crucial role of micro and small construction companies in achieving the EU’s climate and energy goals. A presentation by Eurofound will previously set the scene.
MEPs Isabelle le Callennec (EPP, France) and Marcos Ros Sempere (S&D, Spain) will address the audience, while Deputy Director Stefan Olsson from DG Employment, DG Energy, FIEC, EFBWW, UIPI and ACE will react to the main findings of the study on micro companies and the 2040 climate and decarbonisation targets.
A lunch will follow, open to all registered participants. The event will include interpretation in English, French, and Italian.
