EBC welcomes the European Consortium of Anchor Producers ECAP as new associate member

July 16, 2025

In its last General Assembly, EBC members unanimously approved the membership request from the European Consortium of Anchor Producers ECAP, starting January 2026.

EBC members were presented with ECAP’s application by their Secretary General Barbara Sorgato, along with an overview of the organisation’s membership, mission and key areas of activity during the General Assembly.

Representing European SMEs that manufacture metal, chemical, and plastic anchors as well as wood and concrete screws, ECAP works to ensure that small producers have a voice in European standardisation and regulatory processes. Since its establishment, ECAP has actively defended the interests of SME anchor producers by contributing to technical work, engaging in regulatory discussions, and helping its members navigate the evolving requirements of the Construction Products Regulation.

ECAP and EBC have a long-standing history of cooperation, having jointly founded Small Business Standards to strengthen the voice of SMEs in European standardisation. Over the years, the two organisations have closely collaborated on regulatory and technical matters affecting the construction sector. ECAP’s decision to become a member of EBC formalises this enduring partnership and reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that SMEs have a strong and coordinated presence in EU decision-making processes.

EBC is pleased to welcome ECAP as a member and looks forward to close cooperation to support a more inclusive, innovative, and SME-friendly construction ecosystem in Europe.
