Women in construction: The Tech4 Construction Cluster launches survey on tackling gender barriers in construction sector

April 25, 2025

The Tech4 Construction Cluster has launched a survey in collaboration with the EU-funded projects operating in Digitalization and Innovation in construction: BEEYONDERS, InCUBE, Humantech , and Robertame.

The survey aims to gather insights into the gender-related challenges faced within the construction industry. Its objective is to understand existing barriers, workforce structure, and perceptions around how breakthrough technologies—developed across the collaborating projects—can contribute to a more inclusive future for the sector.

The survey, while open to all, is particularly focused on gathering responses from female workers and students already active or preparing to enter the construction workforce.

The findings from this survey will feed a report presented to the European Commission, aiming to drive evidence-based progress in gender inclusion within the construction sector. This joint effort reflects the shared commitment of all four EU-funded projects to promote innovation and inclusivity in one of Europe’s most traditionally male-dominated sectors.

Accessibility and multilingual support

The survey has been developed using Microsoft Forms and is accessible via both PC and mobile devices. To ensure broad participation, it is available in all relevant languages to the use cases covered by the participating projects—including Japanese.

As a project partner in both Beeyonders and HumanTech project, EBC strongly supports this initiative aiming at understanding how to better accompany female talent into our sector.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101058548.
