On June 5, SBS and CEN-CENELEC are teaming up with the Belgian FPS Economy to host a workshop aimed at enhancing inclusiveness in national standardisation. This event, part of the High-Level Forum on European standardisation (HLF) and its workstream on inclusiveness, will be held both online and in Brussels, making it accessible to a wide audience.
The primary goal of this workshop is to address and overcome barriers to participation in the standardisation process at the national level. By fostering a more inclusive environment, the event seeks to ensure that diverse voices and perspectives, such as those of SMEs, are represented in the development of standards. This aligns with the ongoing efforts by SBS to advocate for more inclusive national and international standardisation, as highlighted in the recent position papers on a more inclusive national and international standardisation. As a partner and co-funder of SBS, EBC has actively supported SBS in these efforts, underscoring our shared commitment to ensuring that the voices of SMEs are heard in the standardisation process.
The workshop is designed to bring together a broad range of stakeholders, aiming to facilitate a comprehensive dialogue on inclusiveness in standardisation. The event will feature three insightful panel discussions: the first will focus on identifying and addressing the challenges stakeholders face in joining and accessing the standardisation system; the second will delve into ensuring balanced representation and participation of all stakeholders in the standardisation process; and the final panel will highlight successful practices and discuss potential measures to improve inclusiveness.
Join us on June 5 at 9:30 to be a part of the conversation on driving inclusiveness in standardisation.
