During the last EBC Board of Directors on December 19, it was announced that constructionromande will take over the mandate of the Geneva Federation of Building and trade FMB (Fédération Genevoise des Métiers du Bâtiment in French) as Swiss member of EBC as of January 2024.
constructionromande is an intercantonal association founded in 2016 that defends the interests of the construction industry in French-speaking Switzerland, with FMB as a member. Several times a year, it brings its member organisations together to promote the emergence of common positions and projects.
As regional umbrella organisation, it represents, defends and promotes the interests of ten French-speaking industry associations and cantonal inter-professional associations covering trades related to all construction related activities. As such, it is a representative interlocutor for policymakers on all issues relating to the construction industry in French-speaking Switzerland.
Against this background, the EBC Treasurer, Mr Nicolas Rufener, in his capacity as Secretary General of the FMB and Director of constructionromande, explained the willingness of French-speaking Swiss construction companies to engage further with their European counterparts sharing the views of SMEs in construction.
EBC is looking forward to collaborating with constructionromande to strengthen the voice of the construction sector at the Swiss and European level. At the same time, the whole EBC family would like to thank FMB for its dynamic and constructive involvement in the activities of EBC in Brussels, to strengthen the voice of construction SMEs and crafts in the European Union and the whole of Europe.
