Human-robot collaboration: Mid-term meeting for Horizon Europe project HumanTech

From 23 to 25 August, the partners in the EU-funded HumanTech initiative gathered in Oslo for the mid-term meeting of this Horizon Europe project aimed at developing human-centred technologies that help make the construction sector safer and more sustainable.

The Norwegian research organisation SINTEF hosted the meeting. Over the three days, intense discussions took place on BIM, wearable technologies for construction, workers’ perceptions of robotics and technological innovation, workers’ health and safety, training needs and collaboration between man and robot.

The consortium also took time to review progress and next steps, including the continuation of testing activities for HumanTech technology at demonstration sites, as well as the subsequent training programme for construction professionals.

Within this framework, EBC is bringing the perspective of its construction SMEs to the partnership and aims to continue its work to bridge the gap between them and the burgeoning digital innovation.
