EBC Training Day at CAPEB in Paris

After a long period of virtual meetings, last 6 April the EBC team was invited by its French founding member CAPEB – Confédération de l’artisanat et des petites entreprises du bâtiment to Paris for a training day.

As fresh faces joined the EBC team in Brussels, it was an excellent opportunity for an in-depth exchange between the two organizations, to establish strong bilateral contacts and to explore new synergies for the national and European levels. Among the discussed themes:

  • Policy dossiers

With the legal, economic, and social CAPEB departments, the exchanges turned around data and statistics related to construction SMEs, the representativeness of CAPEB and EBC, public procurement, skills, and training, as well as health and safety.

  • Technical dossiers

With the technical departments of CAPEB, the discussion revolved around regulations concerning asbestos, BIM and digital construction, circular economy and waste, and the Construction Products Regulation.

  • Communication

With the communication department of CAPEB, ideas were shared to perfectionate the coordination between communication responsible within EBC network, as well as best practices on how to better reach construction SMEs at the national and European level.

This training day was the very first exercise of the sort since the pandemic hit, launching a new cycle with a brand-new team in the Brussels secretariat. The EBC secretariat looks forward to meeting all its partners over the coming months and year to enhance further the collaborative effort to promote the interests of the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and craftsmen of the construction sector.
