On 14 February 2019, the Governing Council of the Confederación Nacional de la Construcción (CNC) approved the appointment of José Pablo Martínez Marqués as the new Secretary General of the organisation. The CNC is the leading professional organisation of the construction sector in Spain, bringing together nearly all the companies operating in the sector, and a founding member of the European Builders Confederation (EBC).
Mr Martínez Marqués, already Director of the Legal Department at CNC for the last 10 years, has been actively involved in the activities of EBC as a Board Member.
The newly appointed CNC Secretary General stated that “assuming this new responsibility is a great challenge and a commitment to the future of the construction sector and the recovery of employment“. He also announced that his objectives will be to adapt the organisation to the new type of challenges ahead and to promote a cutting-edge and sustainable construction sector that can contribute to a competitive economy, social well-being, job creation, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the adaptation to increasingly frequent climate phenomena.
The whole EBC family would like to congratulate Mr. Martínez Marqués and wish him the very best in his new functions, with a new impetus under his leadership at the Spanish level for an already solid and fruitful collaboration between CNC and EBC at the European level.
