The EU-funded project NETconVET (Network for future innovation of major competences in vocational education and training in construction) aims at facilitating exchanges about the development of VET-business partnerships, with the ultimate goal to promote work-based learning in all its forms.
The consortium consists of 5 VET-centres, 1 university, 1 think-tank and the European Builders Confederation, discussing how target groups (learners, companies and VET-trainers, entrepreneurs and pupils) get into, stay and cope with markets needs in VET, with a special focus on transition into/within/out of VET, work-based learning, digital competences, and Building Information Modelling (BIM).
At the occasion of its 4th meeting, the German VET-centre BZB Krefeld – the project promoter and applicant of the initiative – welcomed all project partners to discuss the roles of different stakeholders in initial VET on 20-21 September in Düsseldorf, Germany. This meeting was coupled with a “Conference on Project Development” event, which is an initiative of vocational training centres and scientific institutions willing to exchange about new developments and challenges in training for the construction branch and later correspond to public tenders.
Next NETconVET meeting will be devoted to analysing the roles of different stakeholders in further VET. Hosted by the training centre Centre IFAPME, it will take place on 14th-15th January 2019 in Liege, Belgium.
