EBC Annual Conference 2018: Energy efficiency of historical buildings: which role for SMEs and craftsmen?

EBC is delighted to invite you to its Annual Conference entitled: “Energy efficiency of historical buildings: which role for SMEs and craftsmen?” on 29 June in Hotel Crowne Plaza, ParisThe conference, organised together with our French member CAPEB in the framework of our 2018 Annual Congress, brings together experts, professionals and decision-makers to discuss challenging issues and best practices linking energy efficiency and historical buildings.

This edition will focus on the role of energy efficiency in historical buildings, as a contribution to the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH). The adoption of a number of measures to improve energy efficiency in Europe, such as the revisions of the Energy Performance of Buildings and the Energy Efficiency Directive, require efforts in all market segments of the construction industry, including the historical houses and buildings promoted both at national and European levels along this special year. Construction SMEs and craftsmen are the key enablers of the sector, contributing to more than 70% of the EU building sector output and thus generating economic, social and environmental benefits for the whole EU economy. Investments in the European building stock require investments in energy consumption reduction methods, better awareness of digital tools facilitating retrofitting works, and continuous updating of VET schemes and training programmes to develop and preserve the skills required for the renovation of some historical buildings.

The conference will show presentations on energy efficiency and cultural heritage by French and European experts, best practices having an impact on the ground and a panel discussion on the role of construction SMEs and craftsmen in these issues. Have a look at our conference draft agenda.

EBC is proud to be part of the EYCH official calendar, with around 100 delegates and entrepreneurs from the construction sector from several European countries expected to participate in the conference.

Please do not forget to REGISTER before 21st of June HERE.
The conference will be held in English, French, Spanish and Italian, followed by a networking lunch.
