Upon request of the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission, a consortium of different stakeholders is currently assessing the implementation status and the effectiveness of Article 17 of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) in the EU Member States.
In order to collect the necessary evidence on the status and effectiveness of the measures taken by the EU Member States, a consultation will be open till the end of April to relevant actors. It will consist of an online survey and follow-up telephone interviews, which displays an opportunity for stakeholders to signal what are the positive aspects of national policies and where actions, e.g. on information and training measures, are falling short.
Article 17 of the EED plays an important role in the promotion of energy efficiency, because it requires Member States to ensure information on energy efficiency mechanisms as well as financial and legal frameworks is available and widely disseminated to all relevant market actors.
For those interested to participate, please find more information on the project as well as the registration to the consultation here: https://art17assess.vito.be/
