Standardisation in Construction: What’s new?

The European Builders Confederation welcomes the annual Union work programme for European standardisation for 2018 recently published by the European Commission.

In particular, EBC generally supports the idea that further efforts should focus on improving the measurement of energy consumption of equipment used in buildings to increase its energy efficiency.
EBC favours measures that ensure consumers have competitively-priced devices which allow them to accurately monitor their energy consumption. By monitoring consumption, and also being able to remotely control equipment (e.g. heating and cooling), consumers should be able to substantially reduce their energy usage.

EBC maintains a ‘watching brief’ on matters related to energy efficiency of buildings and will continue to monitor this and other developments.
