On 7 June, EBC participated in a breakfast debate at the European Parliament on “Renewable Self-Consumers and Smart Buildings”, organised by Solar Power Europe and SME Europe and hosted by MEP Sean Kelly (IE/EPP).
Policy Officer Ann-Cathrin Rönsch presented the opportunities the energy transition offers for jobs and SMEs, highlighting the importance of energy efficiency renovation for the building sector. Further topics discussed were the role of self-consumers in regard to renewable energies, the role of building envelops in generating renewable power and the role of the clean energy package for smart self-generation.
