EBC is hiring a Junior Standardisation Technical Officer (full time)

WHAT WE ARE 

EBC is the voice of construction crafts and SMEs in Europe, a European confederation representing construction crafts and SMEs from Europe. The EBC Secretariat, based in Brussels, ensures the day-to-day activity of the association and is currently looking for a Junior Standardisation Technical Officer (full time) to be integrated in the activities of the SBS project.
WHAT WE ASK
The Junior Standardisation Technical Officer will work on the construction sector related activities of the SBS consortium. Small Business Standards SBS is the European stakeholder organisation representing SMEs in the standardisation arena, as per Annex III of European Regulation 1025/2012.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the EBC team in the secretariat, but devoting his/her full time to SBS, reporting directly to the EBC Secretary General and working in close contact with SBS & UEAPME staff dedicated to the project. His/her tasks include managing and coordinating SBS construction-sector experts, convening and preparing technical meetings, contacting CEN and EC officials on construction-related standardisation issues, preparing all internal and external communication material to be distributed through EBC and SBS channels, including sector-related position papers.

WHAT WE SEEK 
The successful candidate will be a motivated, talented and very flexible professional. She/he will have a technical academic background, preferably engineering/architecture.
Deep knowledge – and even minor professional experience – of the EU legal and standardisation framework concerning construction is required, especially of the Construction Products Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 and the European Standardisation Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012. Knowledge of technical challenges specific to the construction sector, including Building Information Modelling, is an asset.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English is required. Proficient knowledge of another European language is a relevant asset. The candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team and will have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience.

WHAT WE OFFER

EBC offers a fixed-term contract ending 31 December 2017, possibly renewed conditional to the approval of the EC co-financing. The gross monthly salary will be fixed according to the professional experience. Lunch vouchers are also provided. The position allows and requires flexible working hours, but awards satisfaction, responsibilities and potential for growth to a dedicated professional.
