The final trilogue meeting on the EFSI took place last week in Strasbourg during the Plenary session and the European Parliament is expected to officially adopt the text on 24 June during the Brussels mini plenary for a first-reading agreement. EBC had a glimpse at the final version of the text.
Even though the new text is not as committed as the one voted by the European Parliament on 20 April 2015, EBC welcomes the priority given to energy efficiency projects and notably the reference to buildings’ refurbishment.
Although there is no earmarking for energy efficiency, the European Investment Bank receives now a clear mandate to support energy efficiency projects within the EFSI.
