In September 2014, the European Commission launched a public consultation to gather inputs and ideas on how to review the Small Business Act (SBA) for Europe.
In its reply, EBC spots cutting red tape and facilitating the access to finance as the top priorities of the SBA. Moreover, EBC is very satisfied with skills being included as a new and fifth priority area.
The SBA has to be a strong inter-institutional agreement for a concrete and real application of the Think Small First principle at the European and national levels, with a real inclusion of SMEs and their representatives in the legislative processes.
